Southtide Construction is a family-owned Florida business led by licensed contractor John Rowell. Working with trusted trade partners, we build new homes, restore well-loved ones, and care about the places our neighbors call home.
From the Gulf Coast to Gainesville’s lakes and the springs of North Central Florida, our love for this state runs deeper than the shoreline.

A family business, built on a love of Florida.
Founded in 2021, Southtide brings together a love of home restoration and years of residential construction experience. John’s family settled in North Central Florida in 1830, before Gainesville was established, and helped establish the community of Hague. The family still owns land there today. Those roots, along with our life and work on the Gulf Coast, shape our connection to Florida.
We love finding the potential in a house: the original details worth saving, the layout that could work harder, and the spaces that help a family settle in. That same care guides a new build, from the first conversation about the homesite to the finishing details.
